The Team Behind The Scenes

Our trade show experience includes the design and implementation of large and small booths at trade shows of all kinds: CES, Comdex, E3, Networld Interop, MAGIC, and many others. Many of our trade show displays integrate a variety of presentation media, including touch screen displays, digital screening rooms, interactive presentations, and live performers.

The Sony Pictures booth at Licensing Show strikes an uncanny resemblance to the Sony Pictures lot in Culver City. The seven sales offices resemble office buildings at Sony, a fully digital screening room theater looks like one of the sound stages on the lot. The booth is designed to allow 17 different sales presentations to occur simultaneously, each supported by dynamic onscreen media and sizzle reels. We not only manage the installation of the setup, we also produce many of the original media segments for the show each year.

We offer strategic solutions to our clients to help them make the most of their production investments. In this case, a 3-story spider web made of steel was the centerpiece for a Sony Pictures trade show booth promoting Spider-Man. The web was originally designed and created for a live theatrical event, and it was so effective that it was re-used for the Licensing Show exhibit, and again at the movie premiere. •

A memorable award winning effort was made for Godzilla at the MAGIC show at the Las Vegas Convention Center. A narrow booth and low budget led us to realize that we needed to think outside of the box. We came up with an unconventional solution: smash a bus (Because, Duh, Godzilla stepped on it), and build an environment to support the scene of destruction.

Our in-house designers developed a stunning backdrop of New York City with signs of destruction, and a Tri-Star logo featured on a skyscraper-mounted billboard. Theatrical props included traffic lights, crushed chain link fences, and custom caution tape stating "Godzilla Danger Zone" and "Monster Destruction Zone - Do Not Cross". The booth won Best of Show, and the bus was re-used for other Godzilla promotional opportunities. •

In January 2006, Sony's mammoth trade show booth at the Consumer Electronics Show became the destination for attendees. Designed from the ground up to be an innovative media-centric epicenter for the entire show, every division within the Sony empire was well represented.

Route 66 was brought on board to manage something that Sony had never attempted before. We developed and production managed the Backstage Theater, where product presentations and live music performances took place. This is a difficult process on a theatrical stage, but within the confines of a trade show booth its a huge production challenge. The performances were flawless and on schedule, drawing large crowds to the booth and showing off the best people, performances, and electronics offered by Sony. •
